Wantage WI are moving to a new website! Don't Panic this one wont be going anywhere. All the info and photos will stay just here. However new stuff will now be on a Wordpress site. The disadvantage of the Wordpress is that it isn't such a solid site...it's more bloggy... but the advantages are that its easier to follow and be a part of. The advantages for me is that it's much easier to manage and maintain. I struggle to maintain this site from my Ipad on the hoof and my PC is failing and darn right refusing to upload photos from Northumberland, rather the final straw. Our monthly meetings take place at the Masonic Hall, Wantage, OX12 8AN, on the second Wednesday of each month (except August) at 10.30am.

Formation
The Wantage WI was formed on 11 November 2009.
At the foundation meeting, under the direction of Sheila West and Liz Eaton (both WI Advisers in the Oxfordshire Federation) the following was agreed.
The name of the WI would be called, simply, "Wantage WI".
The venue would be the Masonic Hall, Wantage.
Meetings would take place on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 10.30am.
Annual meetings would take place in March when committee members would be voted for.
Five members offered to stand on the Committee.
- Jean Stirrup was voted as President. - Kathryn Leech as Secretary. - Carol Doughty as Treasurer. - Anne Pagett and Beryl Whitehead as Committee members.
